The hawaiian term "pau hana" [pronounced: pow HAh nah] means work finished, and is what we say here in Maui when the work day is over. Five 'o clock is pau hana! Today is my last day of work before leaving for the summer, and I will drive my little coastal commute one last time- for two months, anyway:) I love that drive in the morning when its fresh- but I also love it pau hana- especially the big arches of the road that winds past Ho'okipa beach. And i will miss it. But for now, its a fond farewell to my pau hana drive as I finish out the weekend and fly on into my summer:)
