the importance of timing

When I originally plotted out my schedule for the journey toward Oxford, I made sure to set my goals well ahead of any actual University deadlines. I checked when payments were due, I checked when inancial documents could be required for my visa ... and it seemed nothing could be needed before July. But this week, I received a letter from the University informing me that documentation confirming that I have the funding for my course in place is due no later than May. Definitely not the timeline I had sketched! It turns out this is not going to be the slow but sure journey I expected- but instead will need to be a three month blitz of God's provision on my behalf.

The One who I believe has called me is not intimidated by numbers, nor by deadlines. He is faithful and He hears us. Please join me in prayer for God's provision to be opened up in His perfect timing.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement and support.

not romantic, but memorable!

Another unromantic Valentine's Day- but it was memorable.

It started last night with the wind picking up. At midnight we heard a loud noise- probably a tree splitting. Several of us ran out of the house to make sure everything was secure,  and finding nothing, we prayed for peace and safety on the base, and went to bed. By morning, there was debris all around our property; we lost some chunks of roofing, lots of big tree branches were down, a tree fell on the edge of our guys bunkhouse, and our electricity was out. All day.
Then my friend broke his leg. (And thats after I spent Thursday in the ER with a friend that sprained his knee, and Friday morning cleaning road rash from another guy that had a moped accident.) Its been one of those weeks. Please pray for us.

Several large branches down in the side yard

Gourmet Valentines day treats:)

They say dinner candlelight is romantic...what about flashlights? The wind finally died down, but we were stuck sitting around in a dark house with little vision for our evening- until we found camp popcorn in the cupboard, and used our gas stove to cook it up... it was a great deal of fun.
A memorable Valentine's Day for sure.

a glimpse into the heart of the OCCA

Why study apologetics with the Oxford Center for Christian Apologetics (OCCA)? Here, a few instructors comment on how the OCCA trains men and women to engage their culture for Christ.
