Giving it up

We are set to give up one of our rented houses, "Walt's", here in Paia at the end of the month- consolidating the Paia staff into one house (the house i already live in). Its quite a process however, being as the base has rented "Walt's" for about ten years! There are so many things to be sorted through, hauled off, cleaned out... its a formidable task. Some of the staff have volunteered to take it on- and we've going for it with our eye on the month end deadline. To top it off, we are throwing a fresh coat of paint on the bedroom walls before we give it up as well- we want to bless our landlord and make the creaky old place look the best it can:)

unphotogenic

The last week has been relatively uninteresting to look at.
I have been particularly busy- and particularly tired!
Posts will probably be cut to one a week or thereabouts- so until further notice, daily visits to this page in hopes of new images may produce mild disappointment. Sorry... :)

potential strewn about

Jasmine and I went walking along the harbor hunting for pieces of driftwood for a home decor project we've been scheming up...oh, so many lovely pieces of wood! So much potential underfoot. But then, you can't have all the wood on the shore; we eventually satisfied ourselves to depart with a few promising specimens.

restless weather, restful heart

Maui's fitful winter weather continues to alternate every hour or so between raining and shining, or sometimes doing both at once. I don't really mind much. I am satisfied to simply be here at the moment.

whale watch!

This Saturday our staff and students were blessed with the opportunity to go on a whale watch cruise - provided without charge by a friend of the base here. Really pleasant to get out of the lazy weekend routine and go for a sail around our breathtaking island- a wonderful opportunity to appreciate all God's shining creation...both in scenery and in my companions:)
